Field Technician In South Carolina

As a Servcom USA Field Technician, you will work onsite with the assigned ticket providing network, hardware, and software support for our various clients. You will work with other support teams as needed. Your duties will include troubleshooting and resolving LAN, application, server, desktop issues, and support for proprietary applications, mobile devices, and PCs in Windows 7, 8, and 10 environments. Most work will be done throughout North and South Carolina, but primarily in York County.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to telephone calls, emails, and personal requests for technical support in a fast, friendly manner and explain technical situations to non-technical individuals
- Troubleshoot & support software applications, various hardware/software configurations and run appropriate testing & diagnostics
- Identify, research, and resolve technical problems and escalate problems to other support teams when necessary
- Clearly document incidents/problems, including the core issue, troubleshooting steps taken to resolve it, and comments, in a ticketing system
- Work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to frequent change, and be able to work a flexible schedule
- Work with diverse groups and individuals to set goals, establish priorities, and solve complex problems
Requirements:
- Two-year degree preferred, but will consider experience in lieu of education or a combination of the two
- Experience in a Technical Help Desk environment, including:
- Phone, email, and/or chat-based support for end-users
- Experience working with Ticket Management software
- Experience in:
- Supporting applications
- Removing virus/adware/spyware
- Adding network printers
- Using LogMeIn, Remote Desktop, or similar remote support tools
- Proficiency with Windows PCs and familiarity with common desktop software (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Proven technical/mechanical aptitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willing to work with others
- Minimum one year Microsoft Operating System experience
- Must have reliable transportation
Special consideration will be shown for applicants with the following skills:
- A+ certification
- Experience in an outsourced Help Desk (supporting multiple clients in different locations)
- HDI certification
- Microsoft, Dell, or other relevant certifications
- Proficient with ConnectWise
- Familiarity with managing small IP networks, including supporting routers and Layer-3 switches, DHCP, DNS, and firewalls
- Experience working with Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, including one or more of the following technologies:
- Active Directory
- IIS
- Remote Desktop Services
- File and Print Services
- Hyper-V
- Familiarity managing backups with Backup Exec, Acronis, ShadowProtect, or similar backup products
